Spring Into Cleaning

Spring Into Cleaning

It’s Spring! Here comes the May flowers, their pollen, allergies . . . you get the idea. We’re here to put a spring in your step as you get busy spring cleaning this season. We’ve made a list for you to use this weekend as you get busy tidying up your home and making sure your home is clean for spring! And of course, be sure to add more things to this list as you get busy.

One thing you might not think of to dust this spring is your stainless steel appliances. Grab a stiffer or a microfiber mitt and wipe those appliances down. While you’re there, give your stove, microwave, fridge and oven a deep cleaning. Take out the shelves from your fridge and wipe them down. Get into all the nooks and crannies in your stove top and microwave. And because you have done so much at this point, take it easy and let your oven clean itself.

Dust off your ceiling fans in every room that you have a fan. Fans often go unnoticed since they are always above eye level and are of course harder to reach. Grab a step stool and wipe down your fan with a Swiffer duster. Now you can breathe easy.

Now that the weather is getting warmer, consider giving your patio furniture a look over. Fluff your cushions, blow off the leaves and wipe off the dust on your chairs.

We couldn’t finish this blog without reminding you to clean your windows. Here is a great video of our very own, Jim Draper, showing you how to easily clean our Royal Home Improvement windows. Instead of just cleaning the inside, make sure you get the outside too! Plus while you are cleaning your windows, look at the instructions on your drapes and curtains and consider washing them as well.

These are just a few areas to think of as you spring clean your home. Have fun with it! Maybe even make it a competition to see who can get their areas cleaned first, or see who passes the white glove test! Who knew cleaning could be fun?
